We asked some of our former students to report back about their college experience so far. Ian is our highlight for July! Here's what he has to say about campus.
Ian Newberg at the
University of San Diego!

What do you like about USD?
"I love how USD is a very walkable campus with many different activities to do on it. I usually go to the gym some days and love to eat at the multiple different restaurants on campus. My dorm is in the center of campus because it's mostly for the honors students and it's very nice to be able to walk up and walk to class in 5 minutes. The facilities are very clean and the food is great."

What are you studying/involved in?
"I'm studying as a STEM major with focusing on Biology as my major."

What is something that surprised you
about USD?
"It surprised me that we only had semester long classes and I wouldn't have to deal with certain classes for a whole year. I also did not know that A- counted as a different gpa haha. I love how I can go anywhere from the campus because it is so close by to many other areas of San Diego."

Fun fact you’ve learned about USD?
"USD's best restaurant is La Paloma and it's so close to my dorm so I get it after class and eat in my dorm. USD is also one of like 25 change-maker schools in the country!"

What did UniVarsity Help You With?
"UniVarsity helped me be able to focus what I've done in a more apparent way to be able to focus on my strengths in college. They've made me feel comfortable to go forward with these more difficult decisions like when choosing a college or when I tried to get into the Honors program, you were there to also help me with my essay writing."

Doing Anything Fun on the Weekends?
"I like to go out to lunch or dinner with friends on weekends. I usually go to the gym earlier and try to stay on top of homework. I've gone to the beach one or two times. It is kind of difficult without a car freshman year."
