What’s New in NCAA Recruitment Regulations – 2012
The NCAA recently changed some of the recruitment regulations that will affect student athletes:
1. Effective June 15, 2012, college coaches may begin contacting prospective student athletes beginning June 15 following their sophomore year of high school (previously this was the junior year of high school).
2. Coaches will be permitted to make unlimited contacts with recruits as long as those contacts are during permitted recruitment calendar dates.
3. Coaches may begin using text messaging to contact recruits beginning June 15 following the recruit’s sophomore year of high school (previously texts could only be used after a recruit had signed a National Letter of Intent).
