Sophomores – What To Do in September
For sophomores, high school moves into high gear this year. Many sophomores take their first AP class and classes in general get more demanding. Here are some study tips from a Purdue University memory and learning expert:
Organize material. Make a list of everything that you need to know.
Assess your comprehension of the material. If you don’t understand something, go back to the text book or your notes. This is a good time to seek help from a teacher, tutor, friend, or another resource.
Most importantly, practice retrieving the information. Studies show that actually writing the information down is much more effective than just reviewing your notes.
