Questions to ask of students, tour guides, admission officers or professors*:

  • Why do most students choose to attend this college?

  • Ask students what they’ve done since first coming to campus.

  • What are issues of debate on campus?

  • What do students most often rave about?

  • What are students’ biggest complaints?  What would they change?

  • Describe the kind of student who tends to thrive here and the kind of student who struggles most?

  • Ask about the social life.

  • What are the most popular majors?

  • What are the most popular extra curricular activities?

  • Are there any student traditions?

  • How are the career planning services?

  • Do students stay on campus over the weekends?  What goes on?

  • How safe does the campus feel to you?
